Many customers in Markham city ask us how we do the exhaust hood vent cleaning. Our experienced and certified team follow the guidelines of NFPA 96 for the commercial exhaust hood cleaning. 

The Following are the steps:

Inspection of Entire Exhaust hood system before commencing the Cleaning. The exhaust hood system includes Hood, Baffles/ Filters, accessible ducting/ vent and Roof fan. Our Trained technician examine the deposits of grease inside the hood, filters, duct panels and the Roof fan. Then make a plan what steps to be taken as per condition of the hood system.

Cover the exhaust hood system, equipment, especially Oil fryers, grill and surrounding areas with the plastic sheets to prevent grease and degreaser from splattering.

Remove and access the hood filters/ baffles safely. it usually collect oil in it. Thus it may drip oil while removing. Filters sucks all the heat during cooking. These are the ones where grease starts accumulating.

Thus to remove the grease, Out technician will never power wash it directly. Scraping of any heavy deposits of grease and debris from the exhaust hood interior, baffles/filters, accessible ducting, roof fan, ecology unit. This step of scraping helps in easy removal of debris.

Our team put on special PPE before applying degreaser. We instruct everyone standing around to wear mask and gloves especially before applying degreaser to the Exhaust hood system. 

Next important step is power washing the Exhaust hood system. These above steps are same for hood, filters, accessible duct and Roof fan. We use hot water during the Pressure wash. 

Repeat the process if any leftover cleaning exist or spots left to be cleaned. at this stage there are some rigid stains that can only go after scrubbing. Thus, here scrubbing comes in the Picture. After this, Again power wash the exhaust vent system.
These steps repeat until we get the better results.

Lastly we remove the plastic sheets and dry the hood with proper equipments.  And paste a Sticker on the hood for inspection purposes.
